Getting Started

This walkthrough takes you from sign-in to your first downloaded dataset in six steps.

The six steps

1. Sign in — Authenticate using a magic link or 8-digit code sent to your email.
2. Find data — Search by keyword or explore a data service by URL.
3. Open a dataset — Browse to a specific dataset and review its details.
4. Subscribe — Turn on ingestion for the dataset and choose a schedule.
5. Monitor progress — Watch the subscription status and wait for the run to complete.
6. Download your data — Retrieve the data files and load them into your chosen tool.

Before you begin

You need a Geo Data Connector account. If you do not have one, contact support@smartdatahub.io or sign up at gdc.smartdatahub.io.

No software installation is required. Geo Data Connector runs entirely in your browser.
